ADSL4 VoIP
![]()
VoIP is becoming the preferred choice for business telecommunications. Using the internet instead of the PSTN, VoIP delivers high quality calls at a fraction of the cost of conventional telephone systems. For example, with VoIP you can enjoy free or cheaper calls to any UK landline or other VoIP user whether local or international.
For VoIP to be a cost effective option for businesses there are a number of factors to take into account:
- If the ADSL line fails what happens?
- How many concurrent calls can a single ADSL line handle?
- Are you suffering voice jitter by running VoIP and data together?
- Do you need resilience built in with data connectivity?
If the above are questions that may affect your business then ADSL 4 VOIP may be your solution.
ADSL 4 VOIP allows you to control, add and dedicate bandwidth to either VOIP or data.
We can achieve this solution by installing a minimum of 2 ADSL or SDSL connections together with our bonding device and presenting a single public IP address or range to the internal network. The public IP address is allocated from within our data centre core equipment.
The resulting factor is that all traffic, whether inbound or outbound is advertising as a single IP address.
All traffic is then session balanced over each available link.
If you need more bandwidth all we need to do is add addition ADSL or SDSL lines.
For VOIP purposes, each call is only carried over a single link therefore reducing jitter. In the event of a line failure connectivity is not lost as traffic will be carried over all other available lines.
